This morning, we decided to make a little something for our playroom window.
and then, Aidan sprinkled the shavings all over the wax paper.
The boys really enjoyed the texture of the shavings.
After a bit, we decided that it was time to melt the shavings. So, I laid a towel down on our table and put our wax paper filled with shavings on top of the towel. I then placed another piece of wax paper on top and covered it with another towel. Aidan ironed.
The crayons melted a little, but not entirely, so I removed the top towel and carefully ironed directly on the wax paper. Aidan loved watching the crayons melt instantly.
Once they had cooled off, we cut them into shapes, sort of. Then, we punched a hole in the top of them, and hung them up in our playroom window.
This multi-colored one reminded me of a Christmas tree.
This one reminded Aidan of Nemo, from the Disney movie, “Finding Nemo.”
Adding a burst of color in our window is a small joy. Aidan really enjoyed making these and wants to make more – a sweet little mama victory!
